The only problem is the almost desperate attraction between the two of them that they are tamping down with every ounce of self-control and the battle goes well by day but the two surrender to their desires by night. As long as they remain professional all will be fine, but the line if very fine between professional and passionate when it comes to close quarters.

When disaster comes in the manner of a fire the first reaction is Tory’s predator has found her, however it becomes clear the issues are against Josh and not only does he have someone with a grudge he has a terrorist from his military days leading a march of destruction against him and his fellow Marines. When one event gets under control another pops up and Tory with Josh are striking against problems from one part of the country to the next. For Tory it has become a problem keeping quiet and hidden but she knows with Josh by her side she is safe and when her past shows up everyone will be able to handle it. For Josh the problems are revealing themselves and his ability to utilize that military background proves that patience is what will wear your enemies down and eventually eliminate them.

So many bad guys after both the hero and heroin. It seems unrealistic that 2 good people would be so ruthlessly pursued. Further, there is a kidnapping, rape and shooting of the heroin's best friend. This book is more violent than Kat Martin's usual. I suggest you buy one of her other books.
I hate that the trilogy has ended. All the books were great. The way they tied together was like one long story. Spectacular characters. The brothers Cain are hot. This book was a great ending for the series though I would love to have the other characters stories. The sheriff needs to get his.
Great book! Tory and Ivy wormed their way right into my heart and I was rooting for a "happy ending". And Josh can be my hero anytime!!! And even Damon played his role to perfection, the mention of his name had my skin crawling. Such a outstanding trilogy - loved all the characters and having them back for the final book .
Kat Martin writes Romantic Suspense at its finest - her books are an auto-buy for me and I always love them.
Kat Martin is always a good read. I've enjoyed this series very much. Josh coming home from war and putting his life back together. Tory running from an abusive relationship, and finding a place that was safe for her and ivy. Josh working with vets so they can feel productive after being wounded in war. Very good story! I would recommend to family and friends.
This was the third book in the Texas Trilogy and it ended with a Bang. Victoria Langford was running for her & her daughter's life from the beginning of the story from a very abusive relationship which left her with hard trust issues. She was hoping coming into Iron Springs, Texas would be the end of the line from her running life. Victoria stopped at Josh Cain's ranch looking for a job since she was about out of gas & money. Josh was an ex-military Special Op's Marksman just out of the Army hoping to build up his ranch & was not looking to start any relationship with a single mother. Little did he know meeting Victoria was just the beginning of more troubles to follow & hot romance with a very independent, hard working woman whom he vowed to protect at all costs.
This was a great way to end the series. I have always enjoyed Ms. Martin's books & have yet to be disappointed by her writing.
The first Kat Martin book I ever read was a bit too dark for me but this was a stellar storyline and I'm glad I gave the author a second look. The main female character is very believable and the main male character is a deeply complex and very riveting personality. I could easily see that despite their differences they would be drawn together. The writing was tight, the dialogue good and there were some real WOW moments, including that last scene in the barn. Well done.
Holy cow there was quite a lot of action in this story of Josh Cain and Victoria Langford. There was heat from the get go even if both characters kept denying it at first. Victoria/Tory was drawn to Josh almost from the get go which for her and what she had been through in the last few years was something of a miracle. Josh didn't want her there at all so he agreed to give her three days.

Trouble follows both of them throughout the story and the villains are pure evil. Josh is the strong, silent, protective type and Tori appeals to him in that way. She also comes with a 4 year old daughter named Ivy. Ivy is adorable and Josh has to earn her trust as well as Tori's if he want to help them.

I knew that I should have started this story when I had time to read it all the way through. But alas I didn't. Ms. Martin kept me on the edge of my seat and it was very hard to find a good point to stop. When not reading I kept thinking about when I would be able to read it again. It was a good story and I am sad to see the series end but what a way to have it end. I have never been disappointed by Ms Martin yet and this book was certainly no exception. It had it all, romance, action, familiar faces and characters that are strong, loyal, loving and have your back.
